We are excited to partner with LOVE Columbia to assist in collecting items that can be donated to their charity.
LOVE Columbia is a local charity that serves those who are struggling to provide for their basic needs or improve their life and wants help to create a path forward.
"Many of the people we serve have nowhere else to turn. Often, they are under great stress and facing multiple challenges. Without intervention, many of their situations would become quite dire and result in a negative domino effect such as eviction leading to homelessness or unaffordable car repair leading to job loss." - LOVE Columbia.
Everyone in the Old Hawthorne Community is welcome to participate in the furniture drive. Please be sure to review the flyer to see what items are and are not accepted for donation.
Their volunteers will be coming around on Thursday, May 2nd, between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. If you wish to donate items, please register on the club calendar to guarantee your address gets included. While they will be driving the neighborhood to look for items, some streets may be passed by if no addresses are listed for that lane.
All items must be clearly gathered in the garage or driveway. If the homeowner is not there to meet the volunteers, they will need to be able to identify what items are for donation without needing to guess. If there are items that they cannot bring to the garage (in room or basement etc.), please list the specific item in the comments, as this will take more time and planning for the volunteers.

Kids Fun Nights are finally back and next week we have one of our favorite themes of the year and that’s JERSEY NIGHT! Kids can wear any jersey from any sport. We have had some awesome jerseys in the past and we love to see all sports and teams. It could even be their own jersey from the sports they play. The most fun, unique and best looking jerseys will be crowned winners. It will be a great evening of tennis, food and fun! As always dressing up is 100% optional. If your kids want to play but don’t want to dress up they don’t have to! But if they do dress up and they go big, the best outfits will win gift cards to some awesome places like Starbucks, Crumbl, Andy’s and more. Fun nights are all games no instruction. There might even be a contest or 2 thrown in as well. We will be catering all fun nights with Pizza! We always have pizza at our kids fun nights and there will be plenty for everyone to get as much as they want. We also have cookies and soda as well. You can register for the kids fun nights on the Old Hawthorne website or app.

Join us for our first liveball tournament of the season. Register with your partner and play liveball against other teams all evening. You will be playing with your partner the ENTIRE time, so pick a good one! We will draw out of a hat to see where each team will be placed to start the event off. This will be an up & down the river format. When time is called, the team with the most points accumulated on the champions side will move up and the team with the least points will move down. The teams that have a score in the middle will stay. There will be 15-20 minute rotations. At the end of the last rotation the team with the most points on the champions side on the top court wins the tournament. Awards are given to the champions. Just think of this as a regular liveball clinic but you’re playing with the same person the entire night. If you make it to the top court on the last rotation you have a chance to win it all. If you aren’t on the top court at the last rotation just play and have fun like you normally would.
This liveball tournament is for players rated 2.5-4.0 ONLY
Minimum 12 teams | Maximum 16 Teams
You can register a team of any level as long as it falls between 2.5-4.0. That means a 2.5 can team with another 2.5, a 2.5 can team with a 4.0, a 4.0 can team with a 4.0, a 3.0 can team with a 4.0 and so on. There is no gender rule. Teams can register as female/female, male/male & male/female.
*We will have music and a member charge bar after liveball is finished. We expect the liveball portion of the event to be quite serious from what we have seen from our members in the past. For this reason we will not have the bar available during play. Member charge bar will be available on the tennis patio from 8:00-9:00pm.

Please join us for a day trip to Chicken N Pickle in Kansas City for a fun outing of pickleball, food and drinks! We will take a 10:00am private charter from the Old Hawthorne Courts to our venue in KC. You are allowed to bring your own alcohol and enjoy some drinks on the trip up! You will then have 3 hours of private court time with a round-robin format on 4 dedicated outdoor courts. After our court time has finished you have a private dining area in the outdoor beer garden to eat, drink and socialize. You will have a dedicated server for all of your food and beverage needs. We will head back home around 5:30pm and hope to have you back at the parking lot at the courts by 8:00pm. We can take a total of 16 ladies so signup ASAP to play.

NON-TENNIS MEMBERS
Due to our low registration numbers last season, we have decided to offer up our junior tennis program to the general public. We had many weeks and months where our junior members were wanting to play but didn’t have enough signups for their ball groups and classes. We are going to do our best to not let that happen again. Non-members will still pay an additional fee to join the program and will also have to signup after the member signup period has finished. Since non-members won’t have access to signup online they will reach out to us via email to play. If you know of anyone who wants to play please forward them our information.
No email registrations are accepted unless it is drop-in or a non-member signup. Once again, for drop-in inquiries you will email us a few days before the clinic you are interested in and we will let you know if there is space or if that particular clinic is available. Join us for our first ever liveball tournament. Register with your partner and play liveball against other teams all evening. You will be playing with your partner the ENTIRE time so pick a good one! We will draw out of a hat to see where each team will be placed to start the event off. This will be an up & down the river format. When time is called, the team with the most points accumulated on the champions side will move up and the team with the least points will move down. The teams that have a score in the middle will stay. There will be 15-20 minute rotations. At the end of the last rotation the team with the most points on the champions side on the top court wins the tournament. Awards are given to the champions. Just think of this as a regular liveball clinic but you’re playing with the same person the entire night. If you make it to the top court on the last rotation you have a chance to win it all. If you aren’t on the top court at the last rotation just play and have fun like you always do.
This liveball tournament is for players 2.5-4.0
Minimum 12 teams | Maximum 16 Teams
You can register a team of any level as long as it falls between 2.5-4.0. That means a 2.5 can team with another 2.5, a 2.5 can team with a 4.0, a 4.0 can team with a 4.0, a 3.0 can team with a 4.0 and so on. There is no gender rule. Teams can register as female/female, male/male & male/female.
*We will have music and a member charge bar after liveball is finished. We expect the liveball portion of the event to be quite serious from what we have seen from our members in the past. For this reason we will not have the bar available during play. Member charge bar will be available on the tennis patio from 8:00-9:00pm.
